The Williams FW47 marks a pivotal moment in the team’s recent history, coinciding with the announcement of its new title partner, Atlassian.
This livery was developed as part of a wider team rebrand, which included the creation of a new brand identity and the redesign of all racing assets. These encompassed the garage, hospitality environments, motorhome, transport trucks, team kit, stationery and headquarters factory branding.
The livery brief proved to be the most challenging element of the programme: to create a design that authentically represents the partnership between Williams and Atlassian, while retaining a strong and recognisable on-track Williams Formula 1 identity, centred around the concept of ‘Owning Blue’.
Atlassian were fully aligned with our creative direction and encouraged us to express the partnership boldly, rather than allowing the title partnership to dominate the livery. This approach ensured the preservation of a clear and confident Williams and Atlassian brand presence.
Following extensive exploration, we developed a concept that blends Williams Heritage Navy with Atlassian Blue, transitioning seamlessly from front to rear. This gradient visually represents the evolution of Williams as it enters a new era with Atlassian.
Team statement:
“The livery design chosen for the FW47 celebrates the partnership between two titans of their respective industries: Williams and new title partner, Atlassian. Featuring a gradient that symbolises a new era for the team, the design transitions from traditional Williams navy at the front to Atlassian’s signature blue across the engine cover. Subtle white and blue detailing pays homage to historic liveries, ensuring continuity while introducing an evolved aesthetic.”
