For the 2022 Miami Grand Prix I was tasked to creative and art direct the Williams Racing fan zone activation.
For this project we teamed up with a local Miami based graffiti artist Surge.
I worked closely with Surge to conceptualise a narrative that was then brought to life with his unique style in the form of graffiti art.
Once the artwork was created, I then took it and worked with my team to thread it through a number of assets including a fan livery, garage design, floor graphics, pop up shops and hospitality / paddock club graphics.
For the livery application it was key for me to make sure this design looked and worked as a true race livery, including all the key branding positions as well as elements of the FW44 livery and race car paint lines. The livery was applied to the Williams Racing FW41 show car! and the design draws upon SURGE’s passion for cartoon illustrations and vibrant colours, this truly is a Formula One car like you’ve never seen before. The venue for Sunday’s Grand Prix, Hard Rock Stadium, features on the design, as does an iconic Floridian orange plus one of its most notable residents, the American Flamingo.
